Will Vista eat your laptop batteries Yes! I suppose. Here how it will strain your laptops battery support.
What Microsoft has done is that they have tweaked the Power save mode of the Wi-Fi adapter. While connecting to the hotspots the mode has been shifted to ‘power Intensive’ mode so as to get the max out of the Vista.
According to Jason Leznek, senior product manager for Microsoft this has been done because some of the users were complaining that they were experiencing connectivity problems while connecting to public Wi-Fi hotspots. This will mean more battery drainage as now instead of going to sleep mode the wireless adapter will be active all the time.
But the good news is this that the user will be able to tweak its power settings in Vista control panel. The Vista is scheduled to be launched in January.
