In a marked deviation from their earlier Notebooks and desktops the Lenovo presented its new brightened-up range of notebooks and desktop PC’s. There were total of four products launched two in notebooks category and two series of desktop PC’s. All the products are slated for a Mid-December launch. The Y-series of notebooks have taken a complete makeover from the earlier notebooks by Lenovo. The Y-300 has a 13-inch widescreen LCD with NIVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 graphics card (Hmm…) a webcam that has the ability to recognize the owners face to log in. the notebooks weighs only 4.85 pounds. The Y-400 also flaunts the same design makeover as the above but has a 14-inch LCD with a flush mounted touchpad, a webcam and 2-watt subwoofers. The desktop range was also boosted with the introduction of Q-series lineup which will offer customers a webcam ATi Radeon X1300 graphics card with a Sonic GearHS555 headset. The range starts at $1,017. There are two options in monitors either you can buy 19-inch or 20-inch monitors. Similarly the H seriesof Desktop PC’s will provide cheap option for those who are tight on cash with price range starting from $699. The PC comes with a anti bacterial keyboard but there is not much info on its configuration. The trend of cheap pricing of PC’s and Notebooks seems to catching up in the industry as Dell has also announced AMD based cheap PC.
The Gigabyte will be offering two series of notebooks in Japan the series have been named W251U and W551N. The W251U series will be a core 2 Duo laptop with Intel graphics card and a 14-inch WXGA display. This notebook has an 80 GB SATA hard disk and a 512MB RAM which can be boosted up to 2GB. The notebook is Bluetooth compatible and has 3945A/B/G Wi-Fi. The W251U comes with 1.3 Megapixel webcam and weighs only 1.9 kg. The other series W551N has a 15.1-inch display and in additions to all the above features of W251U it has a DL DVD burner and a GeForce 7400. The weight of this notebook is 2.8 kg. These will be available from next week on GeekStuff4U.

Voodoo the new acquired company of HP has come with their new offering in the laptop arena ‘Voodoo ENVY HW:201′ a gaming laptop. This 20.1-inch display laptop has AMD Turion 64X2 under its hood with the choice of having a GeForce Go 7950 GTX or Quadro FX 2500M graphic card with dedicated 512MB memory. It also supports SLI infra which means that users can choose two graphics card to work simultaneously. The two HDD’s which give the combined storage space of 320GB with all those mundane features like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatibility with webcam facility also. It will start shipping from 8th January but the price is still not known.
