LaVie series of laptops from the Japanese subdivision of NEC are surely here to stay and they have hit the market shelves with a bang. They show a hell lot of upgrades regarding their features and are definitely a class apart! One of the most adorable laptop in this new add-on series, the 15.4-inch LaVie C, is also the most dominant of them all. This one ropes WXGA+ resolution, and can also be confined with a whole new variety of high-end components and a fully compatible Blu-Ray player, a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor and a 512MB Radeon X1600 video card. An HDMI output is made functional as well. Quite a mean machine in regards to the cutthroat market competition this one is. The L Advanced Type has numerous functionalities too – it flaunts a 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo high-speed processor and Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics. The J is a slight poorer in regards to its CPU upholstery to a 1GHz Core 2 Duo, and the L Basic Type uses a Celeron M430 or Sempron 3400+ CPU, mutually enhanced with a Radeon Xpress 200M. The LaVie systems do not propose to sell their products in the United States! Only God knows why. Via: Electronista

Ever thought about a pink laptop? Well, it’s here! Recently, NEC has released a very ladies friendly pink laptop: the model christened as HELLO KITTY. The KITTY model is currently being sold for 199,500 YEN in Japan which is US $1,650 or euro 1,200. Laptops have come a long ways, however, the ladies have mostly tried to stay away from the technology. I think NEC tried to make this laptop more female friendly by making it all pink. Company spokesman Shinya Hashizume agrees with this idea:PC users now tend to be men, but we’re hoping to attract women with this product HELLO KITTY range of products have been previously popular with the kids. NEC joined hands with HELLO KITTY to make this laptop. Both the companies together packed the following features with this laptop:  100 gigs of Harddrive space  1 gig of RAM The laptop uses 299 Swarovski crystals to make four hearts. I think this is a great idea and will certainly lure the geeky girls. So this summer, think pink with your pink laptop!
