Apple and its biggest rival in Laptops HP are both planning to release LED-Backlit laptops in spring of 2007. This new integration of LEDs will dramatically improve the quality of the displays. This move can be taken with the launch of Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.5 as both have great graphics and also need some good screens to show them. Such backlit displays have found a passage into the HDTVs and also some LCD screens but were initially not integrated into the Laptops as they consume more juice out of the battery. I think that both the companies will have made some changes in the batteries of the Laptops so that they can handle the load of these displays…!
LED backlit screens
We already know about Apple’s plans to introduce MacBook Pros that will come rocking more multihued displays with the new backlight technology. The MacBook Pros will swing from cold cathode fluorescent backlights (CCFLs) to LED backlights. They had plans to announce the LED backlit LCD screens sometime this year but now some sources say that two companies have already got sample units tested for certification by Apple. Moreover, it has been confirmed that they are working with 15-inch and 13-inch screens. Earlier, 13-inchers were just under consideration. The rumors are not confirmed at the moment but we might see Apple Mac units shipping with LED backlit screens sometime soon.
