A company named Kohjisha is working with its new mini-PC, SA1F00, in Japan that features all the specifications of an UMPC along with a 77-key keyboard and that might appeal to the UMPC buffs. Though it’s not a real UMPC, the handy mini-PC boasts AMD 500MHz Geode LX800 processor, 7′ 800×480 touch-sensitive screen, up to 1GB of memory and 80GB of disk, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR connectivity, 3-in-1 memory card, and CF card slots. The SA1F00 features a liquid crystal picture long-lived LED back light adoption, multihued media slot, and the radio function. The device comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. The pricing starts at Rs.89,000 (approx. $754) with a 40GB disk and around Rs.109,800 (about $930) featuring 80GB.

The machine is targeted at the serious gamers who want extreme from their notebook. The Rock Xtreme SL Pro laptop comes equipped with 2.0GHz AMD Turion X2 TL-60 processor, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB graphics card, 1GB DDR2 RAM, two 100GB 7200RPM SATA drives, dual-layer DVD burner, WSXGA+ display, 5.1 surround sound output, 1.3-megapixel webcam, and a 4-in-1 flash card reader. The notebook features integrated WiFi / Bluetooth connectivity, a DVI output, FireWire, and five USB 2.0 ports. The notebook will be available just in time for the holiday season for a price of £2,499 ($4,720). Hefty price guys but hefty features too.
The tablet PC’s may not be a new phenomenon but the style and configuration wars are still gong on. The Fujitsu has launched two tablets PC’s ST5111 and ST 5112 in the market. it is the first tablet PC to have Intel Core Duo Mobile Technology. The ST5111 has 10.4-inch XGA TFT display and the ST5112 flaunts a 12.1-inch XGA TFT display. The configurations of both the tablets are almost same and both support U2500 procs, 4GB RAM and a 100 GB SATA HDD. They also have got Intel950 graphics card under the hood. The XGA TFT display provides better viewing in direct sunlight. They have got touch buttons navegation and a pen with erasing capabilities at the other end just to ensure that you get most out of them. As for the connectivity front both models support Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, Firewire and PCMCIA slots. Despite all of the above feature they weigh only 3.5 pounds and have a battery life of 6 hours which can be extended to 9 hours with the optional 9 cell battery. The ST5111 is priced at $2,429 and the ST5112 will cost $2,199.

The Asustek today came up their 14-inch laptop Asus V2 business notebook that has HSDPA or High-Speed Downlink Packet Access integrated. There are loads of features in this lappy which are powered by Intel Core 2 duo processor. The connectivity for this laptop is provided through GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet. The graphics are powered by, ATI Mobility Radeon X1450 graphics and the Core Duo processor works along with a max of 2GB DDR2 RAM with up to 160 GB of SATA HDD. Asus also throws in a 3 mega pixel camera with 3 USB slots and a finger print reader for the security. The laptops weigh 2.3 Kg and come loaded with Windows XP home or Pro but no info on whether you have a option for a vista upgrade when it is launched. There is also no info on the price and availability.

Arbor MIL-6600 Weighing 3.5 Kg this is a tablet PC and has gone through Military Standards 810F tests for shock and vibration IP68 standards for the dust and waterproof capabilities. It will work 1.5 meters under water also and temperature range is from -40 to 60 degrees. It has Intel low-voltage Dothan processor with 10.4-inch LCD with 4/8GB flash memory.
Asus is ready with a new refreshed U5F build around their older Sonoma platform. Laptop gets its power from the Intel Core 2 duo T5500 processor with display being a 12.1-inch XGA monitor. With 80 GB HDD and 512Mb RAM the laptop also has features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual-layer DVD burner, while the graphics are powered by Intel 945GM integrated graphic set. It comes pre-loaded with Window XP (Vista Compatibility is missing I suppose) and the Asus’s own “Splendid video intelligence technology” will give you enhanced viewing experience as it will automatically set the contrast, brightness and color ratio. Apart from this there are also USB ports, Ethernet Jack and VGA output. The price of this beauty weighing 1.4kg is not known but you can be sure of finding it in Chinese markets soon.
Don’t dismiss it as any another UMPC as the leaked pictures and specs of Medion MD RIM 1000 UMPC suggest that this forthcoming device packs a punch. For the starters it has VIA 1GHz ultra-low voltage processor coupled with 512MB RAM and a slider keyboard. The UMPC will come with the options of 20, 30 and 40 GB HDD with a 6.5-inch screen which will be powered by Unichrome Pro graphics. It will have built in webcam and digital TV tuner and as far as connectivity is concerned this UMPC also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and to put icing on the cake it is said that this little devil will be able to run Vista. It will weigh around 1.5 lbs and its battery will support your endeavors for 4 to 5 hours but no info has been provided on the price and availability front.
