Just in time for the holiday season, Asus has rolled out two new leather bound notebooks named the W6 and upgraded S6. The Asus W6 comes rocking a 13.3′ WXGA widescreen with an option of stuffing Intel’s T5500 / T5600 / T7200 Core 2 Duo processor. And for the gadget-freak ladies, Asus S6 comes blushing in camel color along with a 11.1-inch WXGA screen, 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth, S-Video out, five USB 2.0 inputs, and an ExpressCard slot. The Asus S6 runs on a Intel Core Duo L2300 / L2400 processor. There is no word on the pricing and availability of the two.

Blending the splendor with brawn, Asus has officially announced two new notebooks namely 15.4-inch G1 and 17-inch G2 aimed specifically at the hard-core gamers. While both the machines have almost the same specs, G1 touts green outer LEDs while the G2 has red. The salient features of the might gaming notebooks are: 1) Intel T7600/T7400/T7200/T5600/T5500 Core 2 Duo processor 2) Up to 2GB DDR2 RAM, Up to 160GB SATA hard drive 3) Dual-layer DVD burner, Integrated 1.3Mpix webcam, Bluetooth, and 802.11a/b/g 4) ExpressCard slot, Flash card reader, USB 2.0 ports The G1 features a WXGA / WSXGA Color Shine LCD with a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce Go7700 graphics set while the G2 comes rocking a WXGA display and the 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1700 card. Unfortunately, there is no news about the pricing but one thing I am sure of is that both the machines will certainly pick on your pockets.
ASUS says Merry Christmas with there S6F which has donned pink leather casing for this holiday season. This limited edition model(only 50 will be produced) is an ultra-portable laptop and has pretty decent specs like a 11.1-inch WXGA widescreen with 1366 x 768 resolution and in it s heart lies Intel’s 1.66GHz Core Duo. The DDR2 RAM can be boosted up to 2 GB and for the graphics it relies on Intel 950 graphics card. The 120GB HDD gives ample space for the storage and has Wi-Fi, gigabit Ethernet and 4-in-1 card reader integrated. The laptop weighs only 3 pounds but the most crucial part that is battery supports it only for 2 hours. It has two options in leather casing (brown and Pink) and both are priced almost identical at $2500.
Asus is ready with a new refreshed U5F build around their older Sonoma platform. Laptop gets its power from the Intel Core 2 duo T5500 processor with display being a 12.1-inch XGA monitor. With 80 GB HDD and 512Mb RAM the laptop also has features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual-layer DVD burner, while the graphics are powered by Intel 945GM integrated graphic set. It comes pre-loaded with Window XP (Vista Compatibility is missing I suppose) and the Asus’s own “Splendid video intelligence technology” will give you enhanced viewing experience as it will automatically set the contrast, brightness and color ratio. Apart from this there are also USB ports, Ethernet Jack and VGA output. The price of this beauty weighing 1.4kg is not known but you can be sure of finding it in Chinese markets soon.
Asus opened some of its cards before CES starts. One of the two devices which will be displayed in the show is Asus XG audio-visual Station, a device that will enhance the performance of your laptop in the graphics and A/V department. It will get connected to your notebook and has its own graphic chips plus Dolby output and USB 2.0 slot. The other product that will be shown in this show will be the W5Fe notebook with vista and a external display that will show time, date and other info. Hardly a few months have passed after Sony created a hype in the laptop industry by announcing its 12.1′ Vaio G notebook packed in a meager weight of 1.98 pounds, Asus seems to be following her footsteps as it announced U1 ultraportable at the CES 2007 at Las Vegas that comes with an 11.1-inch WXGA LCD display with 1360×768 resolution, 1.06GHz U2400 Core Duo processor, up to 1.5GB of DDR2 RAM, 80GB hard disk, Bluetooth, a webcam, external optical multi-drive, and a port replicator. And yes, all these features are stuffed into a weight of 1.78-pound (with 3-cell battery installed). While there is no info about the graphics processor but the machine is Vista ready and will be equipped with integrated fingerprint reader, motion sensor and HDD protection. The sleek and sexy U1 will be released sometime in February for a market price of $2,199. What up next Asus?
Remember the sleek, sexy, portable and multihued Asus Lamborghini VX1 laptop. Now, Asus has announced its brand new Lamborghini VX2 notebook series based on Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology and Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. Well, Asus hasn’t commented much regarding the tech specs of the new model. Anyway, the users will experience the Lamborghini style with VX2′s “glare-type LCD” display, metallic keyboard and a leather bound palm rest area completed with yellow stitching. The VX2′s lid also features an integrated 1.3-megapixel webcam and there are speakers on the sides of the keyboard to deliver a sound audio performance. No words on pricing and availability. Let’s us sit back a while before Asus reveals some more info on their ingenious creation.
This is a 14.1-incher widescreen laptop A8Jr from Asus which will be the first to have an ATI Mobility Radeon X3200 graphics. The laptop will be based on the Intel’s 945PM Express Chipset with Intel Core 2 Duo powering the Graphic card under the hood. Although company did not release the price detail but the new ATI card is bound to give this device graphics a punch that you will not see on other laptops. With option of having a Bluetooth it has in built Intel PRO/ wireless 3945ABG. The connectivity options include five USB ports, TV-out, card reader. Express cards, Wi-Fi and IEEE1394 have also been thrown in. it will weigh 2.93Kg and include a 6-cell battery pack. As said earlier no price and availability details have been provided.
Intel officially announced the Next-Gen Wireless-N network connection, a wireless technology based on the 802.11n draft. it will replace the technology that you find in the Intel Centrino Duo Mobile technology and other Intel- based laptops. Intel claims this new technology will lessen dead spots and increase the performance by the multiple of five. What more it’s less taxing on the notebooks battery so the battery life also gets increased by an hour. You will find this technology in all the upcoming Vista enabled laptops of Asus, Acer, Gateway and Toshiba with more companies to follow. With this they also announced the ‘Connect with Centrino’ program in which company will work closely with access point vendors like Asus, Buffalo, Belkin, D-Link and Netgear to ensure hitch free adoption and performance.

The VX2 also features a swivel webcam, 160GB hard disk, DVI connectivity and Windows Vista Ultimate Edition operating system. We might see enhanced graphics and Core 2 Extreme processor sometime later with the machine.
