
Following the current trend, Sony has bestowed its eight laptops with the power of Intel Core 2 Duo. The series that will feature the Core 2 Duo( aka the Merom) processor will be FE, SZ and AR Vaio notebook series.
The very reasonable tagged rice of $1350 with the Core 2 Duo powered 15.4-inch Sony Vaio VGN-FE770G will make the model hottest among all the Sony’s Merom powered laptops. The specifications are noteworthy too with T5600 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive.
The Sony Vaio SZ series comes with hefty price tags with the VGN-SZ320P/B laptop configuring Merom T5600 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive costing $1,950. Other Core 2 Duo laptops in VGN series are Duo VGN-SZ330P/B, VGN-SZ360P/C and VGN-SZ370P/C Vaios that are priced at of $2150, $2350 and $2450 respectively.
The Core 2 Duo powered Sony Vaio AR 17-inch screen laptop, VGN-AR250G and VGN-AR290G are priced at $1800, $2300 and $3500 respectively. VGN-AR250G and VGN-AR290G boast 2GB RAM and 200GB hard drive.
All Sony’s Core 2 Duo Vaio notebooks will be compatible with the Windows Vista Premium operating system.
