
While Apple announced to present next-gen laptops integrated with NAND flash memory, Samsung has even rolled out the world’s first NAND powered notebook, the Q30 SSD (Solid state disk).
In comparison with the run of the mill hard drives, the SSD reads 300% faster at 53MB/s and writes 150% faster at the rate of 28MB/s.The total time required to boot Microsoft Windows XP reduces dramatically from 25% to 50% in case of SSD.
Well, the key features of the 12.1′ Q30 SSD are a 32 GB NAND flash drive, Li-ion Battery, DVMT Video memory, Intel GMA 900 graphics card, Embedded DMB, 83-key Korean keypad and 1.2GHz Intel Celeron M753 processor.
Samsung will also be unveiling an ultra handy model Q1SSD very soon. The Q30 SSD is priced at KRW3.5 million (approx. US $3,700).
