Apple has been in the talks all over the web for past few months. In the month of September, Apple created a hype in the market on the eve of big Showtime when it came up with iTV, new iPod, iPod Nano, and iPod shuffle. And, the October started with the rumors of Core 2 Duo powered Apple MacBooks and MacBook Pros. The announcement for Merom MacBook Pros came around a month back. Around a month and few days back, Apple placed an order for Merom enabled MacBooks with FoxConn and a little more than two weeks back, Apple officially announced its Core 2 Duo power driven MacBooks.

The latest news around the hot tub is that Apple will empower its future Mac machines by integrating Blu-ray drives. While many other notebook makers are busy stuffing HD-DVD drives in their respective notebooks and Sony offering its VAIO laptops with Blu-ray, this announcement will be welcomed by the Mac users.

While the MacBook Pros have been already in discussion earlier for some of their cool features including

On the other hand, the new MacBooks caught everyone’s attention when we heard that Apple has silently added the draft 802.11n-compatible wireless card into its lately announced Core 2 Duo MacBooks.

Well, TechReport reports that the ‘Blu-ray drives will soon find their way into some of the Apple machines’. The only thing that goes against this rumor is that Sony itself is facing the shortage problem of blue laser diodes that has enforced it to delay the PS3 launch in Europe. If we believe the words on the street, Apple will start shipping the Blu-ray drive equipped Macs in February next year. But, I would be pleased if they even make an announcement for the Macs featuring Blu-ray drives at that time considering the fact that Sony seems to be grip every Blu-ray drive for its PS3 at the moment.

Moreover, if we take a look at the current pricing of the Blu-ray drives, We might expect the drives to be integrated in Apple’s Mac Pro costing more than $2,499 and the MacBook Pros costing over $1,999. Another thing that is still not for sure is that whether the Blu-ray drive will be compatible with the Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or an update will be announced.

Anyway, whether Apple announces its Blu-ray drive equipped Macs in February or sometime later, it is continuously upgrading its machines with cool yet powerful features. Let’s wait and see what’s next with Apple for its users.
