If you get some time out of drooling over Apple Phone remember ModBook, a joint effort of OWC and Axiotron was also unveiled yesterday.
Here’s a brief rundown on specs of the three models launched these are 13.3-inch wide screen tablets which use pen inputs (Penabled Wacom digitizer) and (hoping for) Apples Inkwell technology for the inputs and will be the first in the industry to have built in CD/DVD drive.
The RAM for the three models ranges from a modest 512MB DDR2 to 2GB DDR2 667 MHz SDRAM.
The pen input uses zero battery with pressure levels of up to 256 and 20x display resolution. For OS also this book will be relying on the Apple and will also incorporate optional GPS.
Storage space ranges from 60GB to 160 GB with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compatibility thrown in. Made of aircraft grade magnesium alloy it is layered with copper and nickel layers to avoid scratches.
There are three models available named with price ranging from $2199-$2699 for ‘Good’ ‘Better’ ‘Best’. Reminds me though of ‘The Good The bad and The ugly’.
No word on shipping date as yet but looks like will be available from March at the earliest.
