Intel to launch Single Core ULV processors for sub-notebooks

Intel has in mind the niche market of sub-notebooks as it is planning to launch single-core ultra low voltage (ULV) CPU’s as the single core will have better consumption than the dual core’s. These new ULV processors will be in two models of U2200 and U2100. The features of U2200 will be 1. 1.2GHz speed 2. 1MB of L2 cache memory 3. 533MHz front-side bus The U2100 also will have same config. but the processor will be tuned to give 1.06 GHz speed. Intel already has an entry-level ULV processor Celeron M 523 ULV. While the Santa Rosa platform processor will be available in January these new ULV processors might take a little longer as rumors suggest that there launch date is in third Quarter of 2007.
