Boston-Power touts its new battery for laptops to be more efficient than traditional ones in three ways. Firstly, it gets recharged an approximately half the time. Secondly, it offers the same power and finally, it won’t blow up. While the new Sonata Battery can be charged to 80 percent capacity in about 30 minutes, run of the mill laptop batteries consume one to two hours to get to 90 percent capacity. Sonata battery (blue one pictured above) is mechanically compatible with most of the laptop designs. The exteriors of the battery cells are made of a metal alloy that is much stronger than that of the iron cans used in conventional notebook batteries. What’s up next? A laptop battery of the size of a grain?
