
Asus is all set to update its W2 multimedia notebooks series. The most prominent update will be the addition of an HD DVD drive with HDMI output. The new line of W2 laptops will come configured with Core 2 Duo mobile processors, ATI’s new Mobility Radeon X1700 chip and HDCP support.
Other key specs of the new W2 laptops will be a WUXGA 1,920 x 1,200 display , hybrid analog / digital TV tuner, built-in Dolby surround sound, three-flavor WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, up to 2GB SDRAM. There is no info about the pricing and the availability.
