Apple and its biggest rival in Laptops HP are both planning to release LED-Backlit laptops in spring of 2007.
This new integration of LEDs will dramatically improve the quality of the displays.
This move can be taken with the launch of Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.5 as both have great graphics and also need some good screens to show them.
Such backlit displays have found a passage into the HDTVs and also some LCD screens but were initially not integrated into the Laptops as they consume more juice out of the battery. I think that both the companies will have made some changes in the batteries of the Laptops so that they can handle the load of these displays...!
