Well guys, this announcement doesn’t come as a surprise to me as I was pretty sure about it. After Dell, Asus and Fujitsu announced their laptops to integrate Core 2 Duo processors, Apple is following the trend too. Apple also wants to be in the top order to introduce their Merom Core 2 Duo powered laptops in the first week of September.



Intel has also planned 1.66GHz ($209) and 1.8GHz ($241) variants of Merom with 2MB of Level 2 cache, though its unclear if Apple will adopt the entry level variants. Moreover, Apple revealed that it would plunge into the market with Merom laptops at the rate of knots.
