
Apple’s next plans are to take on the Microsoft Office suite, carefully. Apple has decided to upgrade their Macbook Pro 15-inch and 17-inch laptops with Intel core 2 Duos, replacing the the previous Intel Core Duos. The step will make Apple laptops just as powerful as their Windows counterpart.
The 15- and 17-inch Macbook Pros will let users select the Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 (2.16 GHz) and up to 3 GB of RAM. They will also come with an option for the T7600 (2.33 GHz), the highest clocking Core 2 Duo processor to date. This will lead to significant improvement in video and audio encoding. Along with its pervious admirable features like the iSight camera, the FrontRow interface and remote, and a trip-proof magnetic adapter.
Apple is on a way to make their laptops more consumer-oriented and take a lead in the race.
Price start at $2,799 for the 17-inch and $2,499 for the 15-inch with the T7600 processor, and $1,999 for the 15-inch with the T7400 processor.
