If you have got fed up of recharging your laptop battery times and again, then you must try something different like Alan Epstein did. Alan Epstein, a professor in the aeronautics and astronautics department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has come out with a wonderful idea of a laptop powered by a jet engine.
Epstein cited:
Imagine a sandwich of six silicon wafers bonded together and you’ve got the idea. Each wafer is etched, so when they’re put together, the resulting spaces between them can perform all of the necessary functions.
He further stated that a micro-engine about the same size and weight of a laptop battery could be enough to power your laptop for 15-30 hours. Well, he believes that we will see products powered by tiny gas turbine engines in the market within next 5 years.
Well, if all went well, Epstein’s engine will be ready soon to produce 10 and 100 watts of power that is quite good for a laptop.
