I was afraid to use my lappy for long hours on the move owing to the fear of killing my battery life. But now, I think I have got a solution to my problem. American Power Conversion has unveiled three new Universal Notebook Batteries including the high-end 90 watt-hour ripper costing US $200 that could juice your laptop for approximately eight hours more. Moreover, you can even charge your other USB-powered digital gizmos such as iPod or Blackberry, thanks to the two USB ports that deliver power over 5V.

The Universal Notebook Battery 90 features lithium polymer battery cells and displays the up-to-the-minute battery status on its LCD screen.
The Universal Notebook Battery 50 weighs less than a pound and can easily be fitted into the notebook case. It will set you back $100.

The slim Universal Notebook Battery 70 can offer up to six hours of additional runtime and is priced at $150.

All the three models are lightweight, compact and easy to fit in the machines. These external notebook batteries are due for launch in the Q1 this year.
